Semester 1 at Bournemouth University is officially over for me, and it has been a blast. I've worked on 3 short films, designed sound for 3 animations, learnt countless practical skills in sound design, written 10,000 words, and started planning for the next 3 short films I am due to be working on this semester, as well as some pre-planning for my Masters Project for the summer.
From having never done any sort of work on films before, I have had to learn a lot this semester. While things were not without their challenges, I know exactly how to improve for next semester. It's been such a good experience working not only with other fun, talented and experienced sound designers, but also all the other parts of the framework. In such a diverse department of the University, it is inevitable that you end up working with people from all over the place, and everybody has something interesting to bring to the table in terms of creative ideas, work ethic, academic process and further.
I'm very much looking forward to this next semester. The three films I am working on include one dark comedy about a home help device that takes over, one fantasty film about a dragon hunter, and a thought provoking short film about the hardships of being a British student from a low income family.
If you would like to see copies of what I've been working on this semester, please don't hesitate to get in contact with me!
